The Legion of Mary is a world-wide organization of the lay apostolate, in which Catholic men, women and youth sanctify themselves through prayer and apostolic work in union with Our Lady under the guidance of a priest. The Legion of Mary was first organized in Dublin, Ireland, on September 7, 1921.

At St. John the Evangelist Parish, the Legion of Mary visits Catholics at Susan B. Allen Hospital and contacts through home visitations Catholics who are no longer practicing the Faith. The Legion of Mary meets every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the School.

St. John the Evangelist Legion of Mary Active members are grateful for the support we receive through the daily praying of the Tessera and Rosary by our Auxiliary members.  These prayers support and strengthen us in our mission to reach members of our parish family and to bring Christ to them through Mary.  Please continue to support Mary and the Legion with your daily prayers.

We currently have 85 Auxiliary members and if you are interested in becoming an Active or Auxiliary member, please call Bernie Spradling at 316-244-2325 or Pat Dixon at 316-706-5622.
