Holy Order

"Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 1536)

The first seminary that a young man attends is the seminary of his own family. Our parish of St. John the Evangelist seeks to promote prayerfully vocations to the Priesthood and to consecrated Religious Life. Our parish family currently has one of its own sons studying in the seminary for the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. We pray for Caleb Keustersteffen and that other young men in our parish may discern whether God is calling them to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ.
