The Sewing Group at St. John the Evangelist Parish began meeting in 1997 one day each week to sew.  The group has three specific objectives:

1.  To help others for the Glory of God by using their time and abilities to sew useful items for others.

2.  To help our parish family by making useful items.

3.  To help the members through building friendships by working together on sewing projects.

The sewn items go to parishioners who have needs, to Birthline, the Butler Homeless Initiative, the Robert Dole Veterans Administration Hospital and Homeless Services, the Lord's Diner, Safe House, Bethlehem House and residents of area nursing homes.

The Sewing Group meets in the Conference Room of the School on Thursday mornings, (except in the Summer months), from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  The morning is a "come and go" affair.  If you don't sew, the ladies will be happy to teach you or just stop in for a cup of coffee and all will be blessed!
